Backboat
- mobile boat
This pre diploma thesis’ goal
was to construct a light and foldable boat. It's task was to help
the backpacker overcome
water flows and to able to cover a distance of the hiking route
in the boat.
Older versions of backpacks had an outer frame
which inspired me to separate the bag from the rack.
When unfolded the rack turns into a boat frame. Ground and sidewall frames fit in the bag as well as the quants,
the bow and the stern parts.
The backboat turns into a
2,5 m long kayak with which distances on water flows can be put behind.
All parts needed for the backboat are stored in the bag during the
hike and weigh 3.5 kg.
They take only half of the 60 l backpack so that hiking gear can be carried as well.
